Equipped with a Mivoc XGH 258 horn tweeter and two XAW 180 HC bass / midrange drivers, Bernd Timmermanns designed a centre speaker for the Capella range of loudspeakers.

The Capella range consists of: Capella, Capella Plus and Capella Compact.

The Capella Centre was designed as a sealed cabinet speaker since the surround amplifiers usually don't deliver any low bass to the centre. This type of speaker shouldn't cut off too steeply and doesn't need to produce a lot of bass. A sealed cabinet is the ideal solution.

Assessing this speaker in conjunction with Capella Plus and Capella Compact as dipole extension Hobby HiFi comments: ...”the live concert of Bela Fleck and his Flecktones, a cross cultural happening with unbelievably diverse instruments, beautifully recorded. Or James Bond "GoldenEye", the original soundtrack - perfectly suited to judge speech reproduction, low bass and dynamics. All this was mastered by the Capella surround sound system with flying colours. Even the lowest bass was tight and reproduced as it was recorded without masking the all important voices. Speech was absolutely natural and following the dialogues was easy even when the scenes became a bit more turbulent. The musical performance of the Flecktones was vibrant and remarkably three dimensional. The centre blended perfectly with the main speakers. The liveliness and absolutely natural sound proved without any doubt that the Capella Centre, in fact the entire system is extremely musical."

Impedance correction

When using a valve amp an impedance correction is needed. The correction is the same for the standard and ultra version since the component quality hardly influences the sound quality. The impedance correction consists of:
- 0,22 mH air core coil / 0.7 mm
- 47 uF ELCO non etched
- 4.7 uF MKP capacitor
- 4.7 Ohm resistor, 20 Watt
- 4.7 Ohm MOX4 resistor (yellow purple gold)
