The Cauchy was designed with those customers in mind who prefer shelf speakers that are not taller than 65 cm, but still have a powerful bass. Alcone Cauchy Audaphon TWS 25/6
 

The Cauchy shows the following characteristics:

  • 3 way bass reflex speaker in compact design
  • well balanced sound and excellent three-dimensionality
  • high power handling with substantial bass
  • high quality components (at least MKP capacitors)
  • compact size (height x width x depth): 61 x 31 x 39 cm

The Alcone Cauchy kit contains:

  • 1 x Audaphon TWS 25/6 tweeter
  • 1 x AC 6.5 midrange / bass driver
  • 1 x Alcone AC 10 HE high-end bass driver
  • 1 x terminal with gold plated brass binding posts
  • 3 x bags damping material
  • 1 x crossover, as kit see below
  • 18 x screws 4 x 20 mm
  • foam sealing tape for drivers
  • 4 metre cable for internal wiring 2x2.5 mm2)

The crossover consists of:
  • 3.9 mH i-point coil/0.24 Ohm
  • 6.8 mH core coil
  • 1 mH air core coil/1.4 mm
  • 0.27 mH air core coil/0.7 mm
  • resistor 10 Ohm/20 Watt
  • 1.8 Ohm MOX10.resistor (brown-grey-gold)
  • 1.5 Ohm MOX4 resistor (brown-green-gold)
  • 0.1 mH air core coil/0.7 mm
  • 33 uF MKP capacitor/400V
  • 68 uF MKP capacitor/400V
  • 2x 6.8 uF MKP capacitor/400V
  • 8.2 uF Mundorf MCAP capacitor/400V
  • 15 uF Mundorf MCAP capacitor/400V

Review: Despite the small size the Cauchy produces an enormous bass that is not boomy but exceptionally clean and dry. A masterpiece in a small cabinet .

If you wish to use high quality components we recommend the following changes:
