Subwoofer Amplifier Module DT50 - Price: EUR 76,00

After long research we found in the DT 50 a reasonably priced subwoofer module featuring
- a high output even into 8 Ohm: 60 Watt continuous / 120 Watt programme and into 4 Ohm, a little more like with most modules.
- a high damping factor (into 8 Ohm) > 800
- connection either to amplifier speaker terminals / pre-amp out or subwoofer out
- a subsonic filter, relieving the subwoofer of extreme low bass
DT 50 Technical data:
- output: 60 Watt continuous /
100 Watt programme into 8 Ohm
- minimum output impedance: 4 Ohm
- frequency range: 30 Hz - 170 Hz
- variable low pass filter: 50-150 Hz
  with 12 dB / octave
- high and low level in- and outputs
- automatic power-up (may be disabled)
- phase switch (0 / 180 Grad)
- voltage amplification: up to 90x (one channel), adjustable
- satellites may be looped
- outside dimensions: 235 x 178 mm
    fitting dimensions 200 x 143 x 80 (HxWxD) mm

How to connect the module:
The loudspeaker needs to be connected to the red-black cable at the rear of the module.
The module should then be connected to the mains with the supplied mains cable.
The amplifier may be connected either to:
- the RCA terminals above left (pre-amp out)
- or to the loudspeaker spring terminals (above right)
While the loudspeaker will then be connected below (centre right).

DT 50 Picture right: The rear side of the module: it consists of three simple, but solid modules. There is, however, no toroidal transformer, found in considerably more expensive modules like Detonation DT 300 or Hypex. Nevertheless, the DT 50 compares well with other modules regarding power output into 8 Ohm, damping factor and distortion.DT 50

Picture left: Frequency response, depending on chosen cut-off frequency. The subsonic filter with -3 dB at 32 Hz is extremely efficient when used with smaller subwoofers with cones up to 25 cm diameter, since bottoming of the cone is prevented.
