The Mivoc XAW 110 HC is a reasonably priced bass driver with an excellent price / performance ratio. With this driver Bernd Timmermanns designed two small speakers for Hobby HiFi 1/2009: the Mini Sat and the Mini Centre.

For high frequencies the Mivoc XGH 258 Alu was chosen, a driver with textile diaphragm despite the "Alu" being part of the name.

... "Donald Fagen's "Trans-Island Skyway" (on "Kamakiriad") succeeded in luring a breathtaking enthusiasm from these miniatures. The CD is certainly not short of funky bass attacks that might overstretch the limits of speakers. The Mini Sats, however, mastered this challenge with an ease we didn't expect. Sure, one has to be careful with the volume control; playing back at original levels is out of the question. At a moderate volume, however, the performance was top notch. Listening to seasonally inspired music - we were approaching Christmas 2008 - some other astonishing gifts came to light: the exceptionally clear and pure Acappella by "Anonymous 4" on the audiophile CD "On Yoolis Night" was reproduced masterfully. The part singing of the 13th and 14th century revealed an enormous vocal diversity that the tiny speakers captured with ease. Each individual voice could be traced. The presentation is clearly delineated; all vocals are precisely placed next to one another with lots of space in-between and behind." ...

Mini Sat with high-end crossover and high-end damping material

Our high-end crossover comprises an air core coil in series to the bass driver, showing considerably less distortion compared to a ferrite core coil.

Damping material: self-adhesive Damping 10 and Bondum 800 are used instead of polyester fleece!

The Mini Centre is derivation of the Mini Sat, with two Mivoc ZAW 110 HC bass drivers instead of one.

For high frequencies a Mivoc XGH 258 Alu and for bass two Mivoc XAW 110 HC are employed.
