The baffle consists of one panel with 16 mm and one with 22 mm thickness. The 16 mm gauge panel needs a cut-out of 195 mm, the 22 mm panel needs a cut-out of 174 mm. Afterwards, these panels are glued together. There are two more panels of the same size in the centre of the cabinet for reinforcement. These panels have a cut-out of 174 mm to ensure free airflow. The rear panel has to be cut-out to accommodate the subwoofer module. Please check the correct cut-out size beforehand. The DT 500 is somewhat bigger. Two holes of 138 mm have to be cut-out in the bottom panel for the bass reflex tubes.
All panels are going to be screwed together (and glued, if required). Afterwards, the amplifier module and the drivers are going to be fitted.
Finally, the feet are going to be mounted. The distance to the floor determines the tuning of the subwoofer, since this is an extension to the bass reflex tubes. Should you want to place the subwoofer close to a corner, then the distance to the floor may be reduced by 5 mm.
The bottom panel of the sub should be lined with nap foam.
Finally, the driver should be fitted.
The low frequency characteristics of the DT300 is adjustable. We recommend, however, to try the neutral factory setting first. To us this seems to be the best compromise between low bass and volume.
We are sure you will enjoy this great subwoofer. - Should have further questions please give us a call at +49-721-9703724.
Possible modification: If required the cabinet may designed with 10 cm more depth. The bass reflex tubes remain the same. This results in 2-3 Hz more bass.
